2010

On September 28 started what we call The Kibera Project. At a very emotional first visit we promised trying to help The Kibera Band to get more and better instruments. What about if we then could know what should happen during 10 yeras. It has become 145  instruments, spred among 14 different Salvation Army Bands in Nairobi

2013 - 2016

During these years the number of sponsored students increased from 1 (Rozinah) up to 17. Amazing - the possibility to help a student in Kibera is being more and more wellknown.

2017 - 2018

2017 - After 5 long years it´s finally time for us to go back to our friends in Nairobi. It will be a great joy to see them again. From Robert - the person with whome we have most contacts - have sent us a schedule. That have let us know "we have long days ahead" with visits in several Salvation Army Corps Bands as well as at many different schools. We are bringing 9 different packages with a little bit more than 20 different instruments.

2019 - 2020

2012

After less than one and a half year we were back again. Absolutely fantastic. This time is was not only us but a complete brass band. In total 26 people visited not only Kibera but also several other Salvation Army Corps in Nairobi during 10 wonderful days. During this visit started something that not was instruments or sheet music. A little girl - Rozinah at that time 5 years old - crawled up in Ninnis knee. Perhaps it was the first time for her to see somebody with white skin. Around one year later she started at The Salvation Army Nursary School in Kibera. Years have past since then and we have got the previlage of following her from a small shy 5 year old girl up to (so far) a lovely teenager. She is now 14 years old and have changed to another school. More info regarding the school project later.

2018 - Absolutely wonderful - we got the opportunity to travel down to our friends in Nairobi this year as well. This time we had even more packages for the flight. It´s a little bit tricky on Landvetter Airport with only the two of us. Exactely as 2017 we had a rather hard program from Robert for each day. We visited some more schools, that not was visited 2017. All Corps Bands want to have Ulf for reherasals - sorry, but that is not possible. We had the pleasure to visit the Shauro Moyo Corps, situated in another of the slum areas of Nairobi. It´s amazing to see a lot of our students and other friends again. Hope this might be possible even in the future.
